Before last year I probably would have said it was Christmas or Labor Day, but it is definitely Thanksgiving now! Last year Thanksgiving got given true meaning for me. My eyes were opened, if you will, to the true meaning. I had so much to be grateful for I can’t even articulate it all. My son (6) got diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma last September, and was in the hospital for almost all of the time, a couple days home after a week or two at the hospital. We finally got to go home Thanksgiving morning with a clean scan, only to return for scans every 3 months for now. It was the best day! Thanksgiving will always be a day I will remember, and I have so many things to be grateful for that I know not to take for granted!

  46. Millie Swank says:

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. Growing up my Mom and Dad did all they could to make the holiday special. Every year Santa would stop by on Christmas Eve and give us a small gift before we went to bed. And no it was not my Dad. Turned out it was a neighbor that rented a Santa suit every year and would visit whatever family that asked him to. As a Mom who was raising a daughter on my own after my ex husband and I divorce, I wanted to give my daughter that same experience, so on Christmas Eve while she was in the tub, right before she got out, I would put a present outside and then knock on the door loudly. She would come flying out and open the door and there would be a gift from Santa! One year she said she saw him going down the tree. I love the memories of Christmad past, they live in my heart forever.
