Seasons of Change Giveaway!

This morning I had to put on my winter boots, coat and hat to go outside and feed the cow and dogs. Where did summer go? For days it’s been raining and cold. I’m hoping we can move back into those nice warmish days with crisp air and gorgeous fall colors.

I’m also moving into a fun new writing project that centers around Valentine’s Day (more on that to come in future days). So while my body is adjusting the cooling temperatures and the foliage is in checkout mode, my mind needs to be focused on spring and all things in bloom. This happens a lot when you’re writing. I’ve often been at the computer writing a story that takes place in the heat of summer while it’s snowing outside my window. Needless to say this really messes with my already clogged up brain. So fall and winter here we come. Best part about that? Less to do outside and more time for reading, my favorite pastime!

To celebrate the seasonal change, I’m giving away two sets of Sweet, Texas coffee mugs (for that nice cup of tea or hot chocolate), a box of Anything But Sweet candy conversation hearts, and signed print copies of Anything But Sweet.

All you need to do is leave a comment and tell me what your favorite season is and why. Or you could tell me what seasons you like to read about in your favorite books. Do you like those cozy winter time books where the hero and heroine need to snuggle? Or maybe you like summer books where the hero and heroine are stretched out on the beach.

Giveaway ends and 2 winners will be announced Friday, September 27, 2013 at 8:00 (MST) pm. As always, this giveaway is open to my international friends.

I am a big fan of summer books. I think it’s because I get engrossed in a book and by doing so I can picture the hottie without his shirt on and looking quite yummy.

  2. Elizabeth McKillip says:

I love fall–the warm orange and yellow colors, cooler temps, pumpkins, Halloween. When reading books, I do think that a majority of romance books are written during the warmer seasonal months, but I love reading any time of year.

My favorite season is spring. Just because everything is so new and pretty! But I like to read about winter in books. Theres nothing better than the whole cozy snuggling stuff! 🙂

  4. Lisa Slock says:

I like spring personally, that’s when the sun starts coming out again and you can begin looking forward to summer time, cause you know it’s close now..
But I also like the color changes going on during fall.
I like books set in any season 🙂

  5. Nancy says:

I adore fall – the changing colors, crisp air, sweaters, boots, scarves, fall festivals, pumpkins on doorsteps, scarecrows in yards…it all inspires warmth and happiness in my heart. My absolute favorite thing to do is take a steaming cup of tea, plop myself on a window seat, and lose myself in a book while the leaves drop!

  6. Terry Gregson says:

Fall and winter are my favorite seasons as I really hate hot weather. I also love these seasons in the books I read. Lots of snuggling in front of a pretty fire and hot chocolate (maybe even with a dash of peppermint Schnapps!)or tea. Or maybe watch the snow fall. I don’t know if it has anything to do with the fact that I was born in December, but there you have it =)

  7. Bube says:

    I love,love fall – has its own beauty – falling leaves,crisp,fresh air,it’s like a new beginning 🙂
Also love spring, awakening of nature 🙂

  8. Melissa says:

I love late Spring and early Fall. I love when the temperature outside is not too hot, but still nice enough to be outside having fun! Fall is probably my #1 pick overall, I love taking my kids Apple Picking, trips to the Pumpkin Patch and long family walks with light jackets and the crisp smell of the Fall air!

  9. Wendy says:

My favorite season is summer! I don’t get to enjoy it too much around here, but love being able to juat walk out the door without having to put a jacket on.

But winter has it’s advantages too, cuddling on the spfa and reading a book with some hot chocolate is always nice!

  10. My favorite season to read about is Fall. The leaves are turning, the air is fresh and crisp and love is everywhere. I also love the Fall season because you are able to snuggle up on the couch with a fire in the background, do crafts with my girls and enjoy those cool brisk walks.

  11. Erica M says:

I love Spring, I love flowers, and how they make the yard smell great. My favorite season in a book is winter, especially if there is a sexy snowball fight involved, like when the girl pushes the guy into the snow, sits in him and shoves snow down his jacket, then she kisses him so hot that the snow should melt in a circle around them!!

  12. Shari says:

I love fall . The cooler temps and all the colors of the different trees . I love wearing sweatshirts with a nice warm cup of coffee .

  13. Renee Pauls says:

I love them all…each season brings it own special fun. I do prefer Fall because of the transition into Winter and all of the beautiful colors that burst to life as trees and plants go to sleep til Spring. Also, my birthday is in the Fall right before my favorite day…Halloween :).

  14. Corinne says:

FALL is def my fav….colors, smells and temps are better in the fall. I don’t like Winter cause, duh, the cold; Summers can be too humid & hot and Spring, well, everything just smells like dog doo, yuck!! 😉

  15. marion jones says:

Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons……one a new beginning and fall getting ready for harvest…..

  16. Ginger M. says:

I enjoy the colors of Fall, but nothing beats a Wintertime book.

  17. JoAnn H. says:

Winter! Just love the cooler winter, warm clothes, snuggling, fireplaces and/or woodstoves, and a great book!

Spring and Fall not too hot not too cold. I like Christmas themed books.

  20. Marcy Freedman says:

My favorite season is the Spring. It is not too cold or hot then. The trees and flowers are so bright and pretty. People seem less stressed and happy and friendly. I like reading books that take place in the Spring because they ready for adventure and fun.

  21. Frances McCarthy says:

My favorite season is Fall. I love the bright colors and the temperature is great for long country walks. I like Christmas books.

  22. Lisa Miller says:

My favorite season is spring because down here in Florida it’s the best weather. You can go outside and not freeze or be overcome by the humidity. Plus, the plants all start to bloom.

  23. Emily B. says:

I love winter, everybody always thinks I am so strange because of it but I just hate summer time, it is always too hot and I love Christmas themed books.

  24. Kim K says:

I just love fall time. The change in the air. The beautiful colors on the trees. The cool nights great for snuggling. Time for pumpkins, apple picking, non fires and hay rides.

  25. Jacquie Biggar says:

My favourite season is spring. I love watching everything wake up after their winter’s nap. All the shiny new leaves on the trees, the buds of the tulips and the daffodils as they stretch their bodies towards the light. The songs of the birds as they tend their young, baby deer, the list goes on, 🙂

  26. Cheryl Henderson says:

I love fall. Cool nights by the fire…keeping each other warm and cozy. Mmmmmmmmm. A glass of wine , and I’m all yours.

  27. Karen Harvey says:

My fav is summer cause, as you are fully aware, winters can be biatch! Especially here in TO right on the lake…give me a beach, an alpha and a coupla cold ones and I’m set! 🙂

  28. Ashley M says:

The favorite seasons that I like to read about in books is both the winter time and summer books. The reason why is because in the ‘winter time’ books you just want to curl up under a nice cozy blanket with a hot man. The ‘summer books’ you have the heat where even though it may be hot outside they make each other hotter.

  29. Bette Hansen says:

My favorite season is fall. All the colors and cooler temps plus it seems like family comes back together after running in different directions in summer.

  30. Beth Mekus says:

My favorite season is winter. The cold weather inspires cuddling by fireside and cozy, soft blankets. Unexpected snow days were such gifts. Then there is the holiday season, when people tend to open their hearts more to forgiveness, and people seem to be more generous and kind.

  31. Oh, autumn, definitely. I love the leaves, and sweaters, and putting summer to bed for a few months. People talk about spring being a time of renewal but you can’t have room for new growth without turning over the old.

  32. Donna D says:

I’ve always said I like to have all four distinct seasons — and I really do like that. However, I much prefer the spring and fall I think. Winter is too cold for me now; my body hurts. And Summer can be way too hot, altho I much prefer that over the cold. Fall with the cool nights and warm days and all the beautiful colors – guess that’s my favorite.
In books, I do not have a favorite — don’t mind reading about any weather in any season because the book season doesn’t affect my reality.

  33. Sue C says:

I love winter. Especially when it is all white after it snows. I love cross country skiing on new snow in the woods and enjoying the beauty of the snow on the trees and the quietness all around.

  34. Jenny b says:

I love fall… The leaves changing. Got Apple cider :). Cool Mornings! Plus the kids start calming down a little at school 🙂

  35. Heather says:

I like any season that is warm! I really hate the cold, and unfortunately I live in Michigan, we have 2 seasons. Spring and Winter.

  36. Ada says:

I’m a huge fan of winter. Maybe it’s because I’m a winter baby so it’s in my DNA? I love reading Christmas stories no matter what the season – nothing better than reading about the hero/heroine getting trapped in a snowstorm with nothing but each other! 🙂

  37. I love winter, because you can snuggle and lay in a warm bed and read a romance story that takes you away for a little while to dream along with the characters in the books!!! Love it!!

  38. Cassie says:

My favorite season is fall, the weather finally cools off, leaves change colors, and all you need is a sweatshirt and jeans. Love it! … Although, there’s something to be said for all the snow and curling up with a hot chocolate and a good book. 🙂

  39. Candis Terry says:
