Name the Wilder Baby Contest!Posted at Jul 9, 2014 5:05 pm
Hello my friends! I’m just getting ready to start writing Jake Wilder’s Sweet, Texas book. There will be a baby in the book though I won’t tell you whose baby it is . . . yet. I thought it might be fun to call upon my readers because you know the Wilder family so well, to name this baby girl. Leave your suggestions here on this post, those mentioned on my Facebook page will not be eligible. The winner will receive a copy of Something Sweeter (your choice of ebook or print copy) and a $20.00 gift card to Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Also, I will thank the winner(s) in the Acknowledgements of the book, so your name will appear upon your approval. This will not be a randomly selected winner as the name of the baby is very important. To be fair, if there are duplicate winners I will reward all winners with the same prize. So put on your thinking caps and think about the couples Reno and Charli, Jackson and Abby, Jesse and Allison, Aiden and Paige, and Brady and Sarah. What would they name a baby? Well, I’m thinking since Annie is already pregnant that her baby is obviously going to be there, but if there’s another, here is how I see it. I could see Annie naming her little girl, Jana, because she was welcomed into the Wilder family with open arms by a woman who mothers everyone. If it’s Reno & Charli, Jackson & Abby, or Jesse & Allison, it would probably be Jana, June, or Jane (some J name). If it’s Aiden & Paige, well, something sweet … like Angela. Brady & Sarah, well, something sweet there too but more down to earth … like Daisy or Rose. Of course, the first Wilder baby boy would do well named Jared.

Payton is a name that I love, I have a sweet special granddaughter with that name. It’s a strong name for a strong girl. She was born at 23 weeks and spent 4 months in the NICU. She’s 5 now and is great.

I thank you all so much for giving me such great names to choose from. A name for baby Wilder has been chosen. Drum roll please . . . . .
Adeline (Addie for short) is the winning name! My core group (aka the family)narrowed it down from 10 finalists. Everyone figured because of the song “Sweet Adeline” the moniker was a perfect fit.
